TopCashback Australia: how it works, payouts and Refer & Earn

TopCashback is a free Cashback site. Click through to a store while you're logged in and buy as normal. Cashback should show within 7 days, and it becomes Payable once the store's returns period is over and the store has paid TopCashback. You can withdraw any amount, with no minimum. Facts on this page were checked 19 Oct 2026 against TopCashback Australia's own pages.

How TopCashback makes money (and pays you)

TopCashback's homepage explains that when you buy from a featured store after clicking through, the store pays TopCashback a commission, and TopCashback shares it with you as Cashback. Its terms say membership is free and that withdrawing Payable Cashback is free. Members must be over 18. TopCashback says it lists over 1,500 brands. That's its own figure, which we haven't counted.

From purchase to Payable

Tracked: Cashback should appear on your Earnings page within 7 days of the purchase.
Confirmed by the store: the store waits until its returns period is over before confirming.
Payable: once the store has paid TopCashback the commission, the Cashback becomes Payable and you can withdraw it.

Why the wait? TopCashback's help centre says stores are usually invoiced after the end of the calendar month in which you bought. It can then take one or two months for the money to reach TopCashback. So a purchase made early in a month usually waits longer than one made at the end of a month. The terms say the estimated payable dates are a guide only.

Withdrawals

No minimum: the homepage says there's no minimum payout, and the terms say bank transfer or PayPal from $0.01 Payable. Some payout methods can set their own minimum.
Methods: bank transfer, PayPal, or Reward Wallet for gift cards (payout help).
One payout type per 24 hours.
Changed your payment details? For security there's a 72-hour wait before you can request a payout.

Why TopCashback Cashback gets declined

TopCashback's decline guide lists these common reasons:

Cancelling, amending or returning all or part of the order.
Using a voucher, discount or promo code that wasn't shown on TopCashback (code rules).
Requesting a quote or visiting the store without buying, or completing the purchase from a saved or renewed quote.
Completing the purchase over the phone instead of online.
Not meeting the store's Cashback exclusions and terms, including offers for new customers only.
TopCashback not being the last website you visited before buying.

If a purchase didn't track

TopCashback's tracking help says anti-spyware, anti-virus and other protection software can stop tracking. Wait seven days first, because some stores are slow to report. Then submit a missing Cashback claim with your order number. TopCashback says most claims are resolved within 2 or 3 months. It also says you can't earn Cashback from two websites at once, so using ShopBack and TopCashback on the same order won't double your Cashback.

Refer & Earn (checked 19 Oct 2026)

From TopCashback's Refer & Earn terms:

A new member who joins through a valid referral link between 17 September 2026 and 24 February 2035, and earns at least A$10 at eligible brands within 180 days of joining, receives a A$20 sign-up bonus.
The referrer receives a A$20 bonus once those qualifying transactions are available.
The bonus that applies is the amount advertised when the friend signed up, which can differ from what was offered when the link was shared.
Goodwill, incentive and contest Cashback, other sign-up bonuses and some excluded brands don't count towards the A$10.
Bonuses are paid by bank transfer or PayPal.

The "Highest Cashback Guarantee"

TopCashback advertises a Highest Cashback Guarantee. Its page about Cashrewards says that if shoppers find better Cashback rates elsewhere, TopCashback will do better than match them. The claim form and its conditions sit behind a member login, so we couldn't check them. Read them in your account before relying on the guarantee.

Cashrewards was a separate Australian Cashback site. It stopped offering Cashback on 8 September 2025 and closed (closure statement as reported by Press Start). TopCashback and ShopBack are the two main click-through Cashback sites we cover.

Before you act

Rates, caps and exclusions are set store by store and change. Read the store's terms on TopCashback just before you buy.
Cashback is only a saving on things you were going to buy anyway.
