Cashrewards closed: where to get cashback in Australia now

Disclosure: SavySaver publishes a ShopBack referral code, and SavySaver receives a referral bonus if you sign up with it and qualify. That link is labelled on this page. We have no TopCashback referral or affiliate link at the moment, and no link or relationship with Cashrewards. This page isn't a ranking. See our disclosures.

Short-term deal · Checked 20 Oct 2026

ExpressVPN: 100% cashback on ShopBack until 24 Oct 2026. ShopBack has upsized its ExpressVPN Cashback to 100% for new ExpressVPN customers only. Start from ShopBack's ExpressVPN page each time, accept cookies, and buy on expressvpn.com, not in the app. Cashback takes about 105 days to confirm, and a refund or cancellation voids it. Plans auto-renew at the standard price, so note the renewal date. SavySaver earns nothing from this deal; that's a plain link with no referral code. Offers change, so check the terms on ShopBack before you buy.

Cashrewards stopped offering Cashback at 12pm AEST on 8 September 2025 and closed, so its offers and referral codes no longer do anything. For click-through Cashback in Australia, the two main sites we cover are ShopBack and TopCashback. Both are free. Check a store's rate on both before a big order, and use only one per order.

Do this today

  1. Step 1

Stop hunting for a Cashrewards code

Cashrewards stopped offers and new sign-ups in September 2025. A Cashrewards referral code won't earn anything now.

  2. Step 2

    Open ShopBack, TopCashback, or both

Both are free to join. Having both accounts is fine, as long as you use one per order.

  3. Step 3

    Set up tracking properly

Log in before you click through, pause ad blockers, make the cashback site your last click, and only use codes it lists.

What happened to Cashrewards

Cashrewards was an Australian click-through Cashback site. Its closure statement, as reproduced by Press Start on 8 September 2025 and summarised by Money magazine, set out these dates:

Cashrewards closure timeline, from its closure statement as published by Press Start (8 September 2025)
DateWhat the statement said
Mon 8 Sep 2025, 12pm AESTCashrewards stopped making offers available on its website, app and Notifier
Thu 11 Sep 2025All transactions still pending would be approved, so members could withdraw them
Fri 10 Oct 2025, 11:59am AEDTDeadline to submit queries about untracked or queried transactions
Fri 24 Oct 2025, 11:59am AEDTDeadline to withdraw. After it, balances would be transferred automatically to a linked bank or PayPal account (bank first if both were linked), PayPal withdrawals would stop, and gift cards would leave the in-app wallet (still available by email). Later withdrawals would be handled manually by member services
Fri 12 Dec 2025All withdrawal claims had to be received. Cashrewards said it would contact members who hadn't asked to withdraw by then

What we couldn't check: cashrewards.com.au didn't load when we tried on 19 October 2026, so we couldn't read the statement on Cashrewards' own site or confirm whether any withdrawal process still runs. If you think you're still owed money, the statement (as quoted by Savings.com.au) pointed members to Cashrewards' Help Desk Portal or support@cashrewards.com. We don't know whether that address is still monitored. TopCashback's Cashrewards comparison page summarises the deadlines differently. We've gone with the closure statement's wording.

The two main alternatives (checked 19 Oct 2026)

Both pay Cashback in Australia when you click through to a store and buy. These facts come from each platform's own pages. We don't compare rates because they change daily.

The full side-by-side, including timing, daily limits and age rules, is in ShopBack vs TopCashback.

Which to try first

  • Lots of small purchases: TopCashback says it has no minimum payout, so small amounts aren't stuck below a threshold. ShopBack holds them until you reach A$10 Confirmed.
  • In-store receipts: ShopBack's receipt offers are the documented option of the two.
  • A big planned order: check the same store on both just before checkout, then use the cashback calculator to compare the dollar result after caps and exclusions.
  • Gift cards: TopCashback's Cashrewards page says it has launched gift cards that earn Cashback, and it offers a Reward Wallet payout. We haven't checked ShopBack's gift card options for this page.

Moving over without losing Cashback

  • One platform per order. TopCashback's help centre says you can't earn Cashback from two websites at once. ShopBack says clicking third-party offers mid-checkout disables its tracking.
  • Pause blockers. Ad blockers and privacy software can stop tracking on both platforms. See how ShopBack works and TopCashback Australia for each one's checklist.
  • Expect a wait. Neither pays until the store confirms the purchase, usually after its returns period. TopCashback also waits until the retailer has paid it.

About TopCashback's comparison claims

TopCashback runs a page aimed at former Cashrewards members that compares itself favourably with Cashrewards, for example on rates and referral bonuses. Those are TopCashback's own marketing claims about a competitor, and we haven't verified them. Its "Highest Cashback Guarantee" claim terms sit behind a member login, so we couldn't check them either.

New to ShopBack?

SavySaver's ShopBack referral code is CZsGd1. Under ShopBack's Refer-a-Friend rules, the bonus depends on earning qualifying Cashback within 180 days, not just signing up. The full rules and what gets a bonus rejected are on our ShopBack referral code page.

Questions

Is Cashrewards still working?

No. Cashrewards' closure statement says it stopped making offers available on its website, app and Notifier from 12pm AEST on Monday 8 September 2025, and it has closed.

Can I still use a Cashrewards referral code?

No. Cashrewards stopped taking new members and offers when it closed in September 2025, so a Cashrewards referral code won't earn anything now. ShopBack and TopCashback each run their own referral programs with their own rules.

Can I still withdraw my Cashrewards balance?

The closure statement set a final cut-off: all withdrawal claims had to be received by Friday 12 December 2025, and Cashrewards said it would contact members who hadn't asked to withdraw by then. We couldn't check whether any process still runs. If you think you're still owed money, contact Cashrewards using the details in its closure statement.

What is the best alternative to Cashrewards?

We don't rank them. ShopBack and TopCashback are the two main click-through Cashback sites in Australia that we cover. Both are free. TopCashback says it has no minimum payout, while ShopBack needs A$10 of Confirmed Cashback. Rates change daily, so check the store on both before a big order.

Can I use ShopBack and TopCashback on the same purchase?

No. TopCashback says you can't earn Cashback from two websites at once and that it must be the last website you visited before buying. ShopBack says clicking a third-party offer during checkout disables its tracking. Use one platform per order.
