Privacy policy
SavySaver is a reading-only website. There are no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no sign-up forms, and our pages don't load Google Analytics or advertising trackers. We only hold personal information about you if you email us. A few outside services that make the site work, and partners you choose to visit through a marked link, handle some data under their own policies. This page explains exactly which.
Short version: we don't sell personal information, we don't build profiles, and we don't send marketing email. Questions or requests go to info@savysaver.com.au.
Who we are
SavySaver (savysaver.com.au) is an independent Australian cost-of-living website. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean SavySaver. You can contact us about privacy at info@savysaver.com.au.
What we collect, and why
If you email us
We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. We don't add you to any mailing list and we don't share your email with partners. Messages are stored by our email provider. We delete them when we no longer need them to deal with your enquiry or keep our records.
Server logs kept by our web host
Like almost every website, our hosting server (provided by GoDaddy) automatically records basic technical details of each visit: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page that sent you, and your browser and device type. We may use these logs, or summary statistics our host produces from them, to keep the site secure, fix problems and see roughly how many visits pages get. We don't use them to work out who you are.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, logins, comments, newsletters or forms that send data to us.
- The cashback calculator and bill check run entirely in your browser. What you type isn't sent to us or stored.
- We don't ask for, and don't want, sensitive information such as health or financial account details. Please don't email it to us.
Cookies and similar technology
We checked the code of every page on 19 October 2026. Here is everything that loads from outside SavySaver.
| What | Who runs it | What it can see | Cookies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics or advertising trackers | None | Not used. No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel or similar | None |
| Hosting performance script | GoDaddy, our web host. It adds this script to every page automatically. It loads from img1.wsimg.com and reports to GoDaddy servers (secureserver.net) | Technical and performance details of your visit, such as page load timing, plus the details any web request carries (IP address, browser) | The script's code refers to cookies named _tccl_visitor and _tccl_visit. GoDaddy handles this data under its privacy notice |
| Your cookie choice | SavySaver (this site) | Only whether you chose Accept or Decline on the cookie banner | No cookie. One local-storage entry named ss-consent, kept in your browser and never sent to us or anyone else |
| Web fonts | Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) | Your IP address, browser details and the page asking for the font. Google says it doesn't use this to profile users or target ads (Google Fonts privacy FAQ) | Google says the Fonts API doesn't set or log cookies |
SavySaver's own code sets no cookies. The only thing it stores on your device is your cookie choice, explained next.
Your cookie choice
The first time you visit, a small banner asks whether you accept or decline cookies from partner links and tools. The site works the same either way. We save your answer in your browser's local storage, as one entry named ss-consent (1 for Accept, 0 for Decline), so the banner doesn't keep coming back. It isn't a cookie, it isn't sent to us or anyone else, and it stays until you change it or clear this site's data in your browser. If you clear it, the banner asks again.
To change your mind, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or change your cookie choice here.
At the moment nothing on SavySaver waits on this choice: the referral and affiliate links described below are ordinary links. If we add a partner link, script or tool that uses cookies or similar tracking, it will only load or be shown once you've chosen Accept. The banner can't switch off our host's performance script, because GoDaddy adds it at the server (see the table above). Your browser's cookie settings or a content blocker can stop it.
Referral and affiliate links
Some pages carry commercial links. They're labelled on the page, marked rel="sponsored", and listed on our disclosures page. Right now that means the ShopBack referral link and code CZsGd1 on our shopping guides, and the ExitLag affiliate link on our gaming guide. In future it may also include links through affiliate networks such as Commission Factory or a TopCashback referral link, but only once they're live and disclosed.
When you click one of these links you leave SavySaver. The partner, its affiliate network or the merchant may then set cookies or use similar technology on their own websites to record that you arrived from SavySaver, so a sign-up or purchase can be credited. That happens under their privacy policies, not ours, for example ShopBack's Personal Data Protection Policy, TopCashback's privacy notice, Commission Factory's privacy policy, and ExitLag's privacy policy on exitlag.com. We don't ask partners for your name or contact details. If a partner reports a referral or commission to us, we use that report only to check what we're owed.
Your choices
- Accept or decline partner cookies on the banner, and change it any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window. The site still works.
- You can skip any labelled referral or affiliate link and go to the brand's website directly.
- Browser content blockers may stop the hosting script and partner tracking cookies. Note that cashback sites say blockers can also stop your Cashback from tracking.
How we use and share personal information
- We use it only for the reasons above: replying to you, running and securing the site, and checking referral reports.
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- Service providers who run the site for us (our web host and email provider) handle it on our behalf.
- We may disclose it if the law requires us to, or to protect the site or other people from harm or fraud.
Information stored outside Australia
Our host, email provider and Google may store or process data outside Australia. For example, the hosting setup for this site indicates a data centre in Singapore. Each provider describes its own safeguards in its privacy policy (GoDaddy, Google).
Keeping information secure
The site uses HTTPS. Because we have no accounts or forms, we hold very little personal information in the first place. We limit access to the SavySaver email account and delete messages we no longer need. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send us anything sensitive.
Access and correction
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@savysaver.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm the request comes from you, for example by replying to the address we hold. We can't see GoDaddy's, Google's or partners' records, so for those please contact them directly using the links above.
The Australian Privacy Principles
The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) set the rules for how personal information is collected, used, stored and corrected. Some small businesses are exempt from the Privacy Act (OAIC: small business). Whatever the legal position, we aim to handle personal information in line with the APPs and with this policy.
Complaints
- Tell us first. Email info@savysaver.com.au with what happened and what you'd like us to do. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Then the OAIC. If we don't respond within 30 days, or you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Complaints must be made in writing, using the OAIC's online form or complaint form. The OAIC's phone enquiry line is 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if what the site loads or collects changes, for example if we ever add a newsletter or analytics. The date at the top shows the last update. This policy doesn't claim any privacy certification or seal.

Questions
Does SavySaver use Google Analytics or tracking pixels?
No. When we checked our pages on 19 October 2026 they loaded no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel or other analytics or advertising tracker. Our web host, GoDaddy, adds its own performance-monitoring script to every page, which is explained in the cookies section of this policy.
Does SavySaver set cookies?
Our own code doesn't set any cookies. It saves your Accept or Decline answer from the cookie banner in your browser's local storage, and that answer isn't sent anywhere. The performance script our host adds may set cookies named _tccl_visitor and _tccl_visit. If you click a referral or affiliate link, the partner may set its own cookies on its own website.
Is what I type into the calculators or bill check sent anywhere?
No. The cashback calculator and the bill check run entirely in your browser. What you enter isn't sent to us, isn't stored by us, and is gone when you close the page.
How do I make a privacy complaint?
Email info@savysaver.com.au first and we'll reply within 30 days. If we don't respond within 30 days or you're not happy with our answer, you can lodge a complaint in writing with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
